Club Donic (formerly Maynooth Table Tennis Club) was established in April 2006. The club is based in Colaiste Phadraig, Lucan, and our thanks must go to the principal, Mr Brian Murtagh, as without his co-operation, the club would not be in operation.

The club was set up by Tommy Fitzgerald and Jacqui Mullally. The club started originally with 10 players from the Maynooth/Clane area of Kildare, along with some of the boys from Colaiste Phadraig. During its first year in operation, the club won many trophies at both Leinster and Irish tournaments and two of their players, Kate Connerty and Conor Mullally were crowned Under 10 Champions of the Year in Leinster, which was a tremendous achievement on their first year playing.

During the second year, many of our players continued to do well at tournaments. Conor and Kate represented Leinster in April 2008 at the Under 12 Inter-Provincials.

In September 2008, a large number of boys from Colaiste Phadraig joined the club and we renamed our club to Club Donic. We currently have approximately 30 players in the club.  Although many of the boys from the school have only just started playing in September, they are already showing great potential and we are looking forward to seeing their progression over the coming years.
